Technology enabled products need to comply with country-specific requirements to obtain regulatory or type approval. Regulatory approvals covering Safety, Radio Frequency and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) are legally required and must be followed in addition to certification for the relevant wireless technologies in your products such as LTE (GCF, PTCRB), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, etc. Depending on the country in which you want to market your products, the necessary processes can vary considerably. They range from “self-declaration” via “classical type approval” to more complicated import rules.
