ATHENS (NOVEMBER 28th, 2017) – Industry renowned marine fuel expert, Bill Stamatopoulos, from Bureau Veritas’ VeriFuel team, will be releasing a new edition to 'Marine Fuels', at the Metropolitan Hotel in Athens on December 5th, 2017.
Shipping industry executives, such as Mr. Lampropoulos Vasileios, Chief Operating Officer of Thenamaris (Ships Management) Inc., Mr. Mantalos George, Technical Manager of Starbulk S.A. and Mr. Zachariadis Panos, Technical Director of Atlantic Bulk Carriers Management Ltd will be sharing their impressions of the new book to a gathering of invited guests.
The new edition goes into depth on the various aspects of marine fuel management, which, responding to industry dynamics has evolved into a specialised function. The full understanding of marine fuels requires a thorough knowledge of many relevant dimensions such as technical, economic, operational, environmental and legal.
“I was prompted to write the new edition due to the many major changes in the field of marine fuels that often have a domino effect; such as new environmental regulations that lead to new generations and fuel types, new problems and new ISO 8217 standards,” said Mr. Stamatopoulos.
The welcome address will be made by Captain Dimitrios Mattheou, Chairman of the Green Award Foundation and Managing Director of Arcadia Shipmanagement Ltd.

Bill Stamatopoulos holds a Bachelor in Business Administration and an MBA with specialisation in Total Quality Management from the University of Leicester. During the last 20 years, Bill has given several presentations and training courses on all fuel related issues.
From October 1st, 2015, Bill joined Bureau Veritas as Business Development Manager for the organisation’s Marine Fuel Services brand, VeriFuel.
