Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services obtains NABL Status in India

Bangalore, India, 8 December, 2015
 – Bureau Veritas’ Electrical & Electronics laboratory in Bangalore, India is pleased to announce that it has achieved National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) Status.  The laboratory has been approved for compliance with ISO/IEC 17025: 2005-05, the requirements that test laboratories follow to develop their management system for quality, administrative and technical operations.

The recognition provides yet another Bureau Veritas location for manufacturers to carry out testing as per the IEC standards for Information Technology Equipment, Audio/Video Equipment, and Uninterrupted Power Supply.

NABL is a signatory to ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) Arrangements as well as Asia Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Corporation (APLAC) Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA), based on mutual evaluation and acceptance of other MRA Partner laboratory accreditation systems. Such international arrangements facilitate acceptance of test / calibration results between countries to which MRA partners represent, and enable accredited laboratories to achieve a form of international recognition, and allowed test data accompanying exported goods to be readily accepted on overseas markets amongst the countries which have already qualified as significant to ILAC Arrangements.

Paromita Roy, Country Chief Executive of Bureau Veritas Consumer Products Services in India said, “We are delighted to announce the NABL status for our Electrical & Electronics lab in Bangalore. The NABL accreditation extends our capabilities to support our clients, exporters and importers, to effectively reduce costs, as the need for products to be re-tested in another country is minimized. Additionally, we have advanced equipment and capabilities in place to offer even more competitive service packages to meet the needs of manufacturers worldwide. Furthermore, we are planning to expand the test scope to cover additional product categories such as photovoltaic inverter under IEC standards as well as the BIS approvals for Information Technology equipment, Audio/Video equipment, and uninterrupted power supply.”
