The German Federal Motor Transport Authority designates 7layers as a Technical Service for eCall Regulation UN R144 and (EU) 2017/79

16 August, 2018 – Global testing, inspection / audit, certification and advisory services provider Bureau Veritas announces that 7layers, a Bureau Veritas Company, has been designated by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) as a technical service for eCall approval in the European Union.


On 7 July, 2018, KBA designated 7layers as a technical service (category A and B) for eCall Regulation (EU) 2017/79 and new UN R144 for the UNECE (United Nations Economic Commission for Europe) member states. 

ecalleCall, automated emergency call system, is an initiative intended to bring rapid assistance to drivers involved in a collision within the European Union, and to reduce the impact of road casualties considerably. eCall has become mandatory for all new models of passenger cars (M1) to light commercial vehicles (N1) sold in the EU since 1 April, 2018.
