Our commitment to CSR

CSR: a core component of our FUNDAMENTAL values

Our shared fundamental values form the backbone of our company culture, and are underpinned by three “absolutes”: core priorities that are fully incorporated into our everyday practices. These values play a major role in preserving our brand's capital and reputation, and in Bureau Veritas' long-term value creation.

AN APPROACH in line with the UNITED NATION's Goals

Bureau Veritas has chosen to align its approach with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) put forward by the United Nations in a bid to achieve prosperity for all and protect our planet.

Through its direct actions and services, Bureau Veritas contributes to all of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

We create value and share it with a number of stakeholders around the world:

• Our employees
• Our shareholders
• Our clients
• Our suppliers and sub-contractors
• Accreditation bodies and state authorities
• Civil society in the widest sense of the term, through our services that promote quality and health & safety, as well as social and environmental protection

Bureau Veritas supports local development through its offices around the world, which boost employment rates in the 140 countries where the Group is active. In this way, Bureau Veritas contributes to socio-economic development in the regions in which it operates, including via its network of local suppliers and partners.

Bureau Veritas works on behalf of communities. Community-focused actions taken by Bureau Veritas are planned on the ground, at a local level. This approach is part of the Group's wider “Be part of it” policy. In 2018, over 150 local initiatives were rolled out in the form of donations or skill-based sponsorship, primarily in the fields of health, education and the environment.

• Waste, environmental and quality management system: Bureau Veritas is ISO 9001-, ISO 14001- and OHSAS 18001- certified. • Responsible purchasing: ECOVADIS awarded Bureau Veritas a rating of 68/100. This grade allows the Group to maintain its "Gold" rating.
• Impact on climate change: In 2018, the Group was once again assessed by the CDP, and was awarded a B grade. • Gender equality: in 2018, the GEEIS label was awarded to Bureau Veritas' subsidiaries in France, Spain, Italy and Poland.
